On January 19th Massachusetts seized the opportunity to change the direction of the country by electing Scott Brown to the US Senate.
Our voices were heard loud and clear and I was very proud to be a part of it. We’ve sent a clear message rejecting the socialist agenda in Washington and the back door “business as usual” openly corrupt and likely unconstitutional deals favoring the connected. We let the whole country, no make that the whole world, know that democracy does work. This historic moment in our history will be remembered as the second shot heard round the world. I'm proud to say I'm from Massachusetts today.
It was the perfect storm. A combination of the Massachusetts Democratic party constantly disregarding the will of the people, Beacon Hill scandal after scandal, a disconnected and out of touch National Democratic party, a terrible democratic candidate, an amazing amount of negative advertising, the timing of a few slimy back room deals with unions and individual states and you have the makings to overtake the machine.
None of this takes anything away from Scott Brown's candidacy because he is truly just what we needed. He is a strong independent thinker with a life long track record of being a very smart, great, regular family guy. I’m glad people like Scott Brown are still willing to serve the public given the current overwhelming discourse people feel to politicians in general these days.
