Fishing Log - Bluefish

We left Taylor Marine at almost exactly high tide and went straight down the coast to the Duxbury Bay inlet. In about 25 ft of water we trolled a few rods down the channel past the Plymouth power plant with out any success. After trolling we anchored in 30ft of water just before the last corner on the right side of the channel. The outgoing tide was perfect for drifting a few lines. We used chucked mackerel on treble hooks and let the rods free spool right down the current. I cut up on of the mackerel and periodically feed the current creating a small slick. In about 5 minutes we landed a 28in Striper. Ten minutes later we landed a decent Bluefish and then another. We basically ran out of mackerel so we called it a night.

I have been told by other folks at the Marina that the bluefish were around and now I know for sure.

Just as a side note the water was 69 deg !!!
