Striped Bass Blitz
|
|
Over the past few weeks we have seen striped bass swarm the Brant Rock and Green Harbor coastline on many occasions. On the most recently occasion (this past Monday morning 10-16-06) the schoolies were chasing the bait right into the beach. There were bunker bouncing around in the sand along the waters edge for about a 200ft span. It was a pretty amazing site. You could literally see the stripes on the bass as the frenzied to fill up on the bait fish. Over the weekend on Sunday afternoon I ran into the same situation about a half mile off the coast of Brant Rock. The stripers were everywhere. Even though we were done for the day we could not resist the offer. A soon as the lure hit the water on every throw you had a 24in striped bass on the line. It was a lot of fun. I can remember ever seeing it quite like this.
