Maiden Voyage - Fishing for Cod

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

The season is officially under way now (May 21st, 2006). I took my father, bother and uncle out in search of some fresh cod over the weekend. The fish weren’t exactly jumping into the boat but we did not get skunked either. We left from Green Harbor at around 10am and made our first stop behind the number nine buoy in about 75 feet of water. The water temp was 52 degrees and the ocean was relatively flat with a gentle southwest wind. We set up behind number 9 and let the wind carry us into deeper waters (65ft-90ft on the drift). Sea worms and clams were the bait of choice for this outing.

Marine Fuse Block Replacement

Thursday, May 11th, 2006

A small leak that only reared its ugly head in very windy rain last season created a bad situation for the wiring and fuse block inside of the hardtop. The power cable to my Furuno radar was damaged as and the fuse block suffered some corrosion as well.

Boatielicious ‘Boat-e-licious’

…she is looking fine. No, she looks better than fine, she looks Boatielicious (‘Boat-e-licious’)! Even I have to admit that all the hard work is worth the end result. The boat looks great now and I am dieing to get the season going.
