Maiden Voyage - Fishing for Cod
Thursday, May 25th, 2006The season is officially under way now (May 21st, 2006). I took my father, bother and uncle out in search of some fresh cod over the weekend. The fish weren’t exactly jumping into the boat but we did not get skunked either. We left from Green Harbor at around 10am and made our first stop behind the number nine buoy in about 75 feet of water. The water temp was 52 degrees and the ocean was relatively flat with a gentle southwest wind. We set up behind number 9 and let the wind carry us into deeper waters (65ft-90ft on the drift). Sea worms and clams were the bait of choice for this outing.
